2013 Nissan Note

The new 2013 Nissan Note has been unveiled ahead of its debut at next month’s Geneva Auto Show.

The new second-generation Nissan Note has switched from a mini-MPV to a more traditional hatchback, while driver assistance tech into an altogether more fashionable body than its cute but uninpsiring predecessor.

The nose of the new Note is now more convincing; the headlights now interlock with the grille, and there's a U-shaped crease in the doors.

“Like the Qashqai and Juke, we’re offering the best of both worlds here: something that’s agile to drive but still roomy, and good to look at inside and out and still be comfortable,” said Genin.

It comprises a 5.8-inch infotainment display; a rear 'helicopter view' camera; blind spot warning system; an advanced moving object detection system and lane departure warning.

Three specs will be available "Visia", "Acenta" and "Tekna". There's a 79bhp 1.2-litre petrol (60.1mpg), a supercharged version of the same engine, with 97bhp, 65.7mpg and emitting 99g/km. There's also a 1.5-litre diesel that's the eco-friendliest of the lot, with 78.5mpg claimed fuel economy and a 95g/km CO2 output.
