Volkswagen unveiled a plethora of aftermarket models at the 2012 SEMA auto show, the most extreme of the bunch is VW Super Beetle and its 500 horsepower turbo four-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a manual transmission.
Next year will mark the 75 th anniversary for the iconic Beetle nameplate, and turning it into the ultra-high-performance VWvortex Super Beetle.
To handle that kind of power, the stock fuel system was upgraded, high-flow cylinder head, an ECU upgrade, high-strength internals, intake manifold and a high-performance intercooler.
The Volkswagen Super Beetle cosmetically is relatively modest, with Recaro sports seats, 19-inch wheels, an aero package, more aggressive bumpers and aggressive bumpers from Japanese aftermarket tuner Newing.
