Auto Review Blog has provided photographs of the Subaru Forester leaked last month in the hope the car will go to the U.S. market. Debuting at the Los Angeles auto show late in November, the 2014 Subaru Forester will probably go on sale early next year.
Included with these photos is an outline of what will power the new Subaru Forester, a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine with 170 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque and a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 250 hp (up from 224 hp) and 258 lb-ft of torque (up from 226 lb-ft).
The 2014 Subaru Forester will debut a new six-speed manual transmission and a Lineartronic continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and the CVT. EPA-rated at 21/27 mpg city/highway and 19/24 mpg with the 2.0-liter direct-injection.
The new Subaru wheelbase increases just 0.9 inches (to 103.9 inches), 70.7 inches (1,795mm or +15mm) tall and 66.7 inches (1,695mm or +20mm) wide. Of note an update of the grille, more prominent black lower fascia cladding, more strongly sculpted flanks, tauter body lines and 18-inch alloys.
Inside, the 2014 Subaru Forester boasts that there's more rear-seat legroom and an enlarged cargo area along with new-generation infotainment features, harman/kardon premium audio amplifier, a navigation system and rear view camera.
The new Subaru Forester will go on sale in Japan on November 13, expect more information to come later this month in here.
