Chrysler may have been at their worst, but historically they have been the choice in domestic minivans. With sales of the Volkswagen Routan MPV down by 16.9% when compared to last year's numbers (only 9,923 units sold through November) - the car has apparently been discontinued.
A few hours ago, the Jaguar C-X75 concept has been officially axed because of the global economic crisis.
The news was apparently slipped in under the radar into an announcement of production adjustments at the Chrysler plant, in Windsor, Canada where it is currently being made.
Volkswagen needed a vehicle in that segment, they needed it cheaper than importing or modifying one of their current European models.
Klaus Bischoff, Volkswagen's head of global design, recently admitted that no plans to replace the Routan with a new model on the company's to-do list.
