Volvo C30

The Swedish automaker has officially notified its dealers that North American production is pulling the plug on the Volvo C30 orders have been placed and all production will cease by December.

After six years on the market with around 4,500 units sold per year in the US, the Volvo C30 will end production in December 2012. The automaker's goal with the Volvo C30 was to pulling a high percentage of customers from brands like Volkswagen and Mini.

"We encourage C30 fans to consider the new Limited Edition model currently available, of which only 250 specially numbered cars will be built. With a design that pays homage to the vintage 1800ES, we expect both collectors and enthusiasts to embrace it and carry on the C30 legacy,” Volvo said in a bulletin to its dealerships.
