2014 Subaru Forester

Last month, the 2014 Subaru Forester has been we shared scans from the car's Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) brochure, now is the actual image of the compact crossover hit the net.

The new 2014 Subaru Forester is 35mm longer at 4,595mm (180,9 inches), 795mm or 70.7 inches tall (+15mm) and 20mm wider at 1,695mm (66.7 inches). It also rides on a longer wheelbase at 2,640mm or 103.9 inches (has also been extended by 25mm) to improve space for passengers.

The Subaru Forester may be built on a stretched version of the chassis that underpins the new Subaru Impreza. The fourth-generation Subaru Forester gains an entirely new front end, station wagon gains some new styling cues, heavily sculpted door sills, new door mounted mirrors and a smaller quarter window at the A-pillar's base.

The previously mentioned brochure gave [Auto Reviews] a grainy glimpse at the 2014 Subaru Forester interior with a color LCD screen that may be part of a new infotainment system. A new gauge cluster is also part of the package, sandwiched between the climate-control knobs and it looks pretty much the same as the Subaru Impreza.

The new 2014 Subaru Forester will be available in Japan with a choice of two gasoline engines. The first is a 2.0-liter unit that produce 146 hp (148PS) that's connected through a 6-speed stick shift or a CVT. Followed by a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged powerplant rated at 276 hp (205 kW) that's connected via exclusively to a CVT.

Japan will be the first country to get the new 2014 Subaru Forester starting in mid to late November. It should arrive in the US and Europe next year as a 2014 model.
