Nissan is recalling certain Altima vehicles manufactured from May 10, 2012, through July 26, 2012 to fix a potential problem in their front suspension and steering mechanisms.
The car maker said the 2013 Nissan Altima may have affected bolts loose leading the driver to lose control and fall out and power-steering-rack bolts that were not torqued to proper specification.
Nissan said the recall includes 13,919 cars built from May 10 through July 26 of this year. The company will contact owners of affected vehicle beginning on, and dealers will tighten the bolts to proper specification, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin later this month. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261 or may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
