Audi has published the first official details about the SQ5 powered by a TFSI engine to the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Primarily aimed at the North American, Russian and Chinese markets, the 2014 Audi SQ5 is powered by a supercharged V6 3.0-liter TFSI gasoline (petrol) engine producing 349 hp between 6000 and 6500 rpm.
The SQ5 sprints from zero to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds when burning unleaded, (0.2 slower than the diesel) with economy at 33mpg (39mpg on the diesel) and a top speed of 155mph. An eight-speed tiptronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive transfer power to the road.
Available in two crystal-effect paint colors: Estoril Blue and Panther Black, it features a platinum gray radiator grille with aluminum-look bars and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The car rides on a 30mm (1.2 inches) lowered chassis with more tautly tuned springs along with new 20-inch alloy wheels (21-inch are optional) shod in 255/45-series tires.
As a refresher, the passengers are treated to bucket seats upholstered in a combination of Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara; sports steering wheel; aluminum-look décor; gray dials and white numerals for the instruments.
The 2013 Audi SQ5 TFSI will arrive at U.S. dealerships in the third quarter of 2013. Pricing information will be released closer to its launch.
