Jaguar C-X75 live in Paris

Plans to launch a production version of the Jaguar C-X75 supercar has been officially canceled because of the global economic crisis.

This decision has been confirmed by global brand director Adrian Hallmark admitted that it would 'not be appropriate to launch a car like this.

"We feel we could make the car work, but looking at the global austerity measures in place now, it seems the wrong time to launch an £800,000 to £1 million supercar," said Hallmark.

As a reminder, the Jaguar C-X75 concept has been officially presented to the public back at the Paris motor show in 2010. The car expected to make use of a supercharged and turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.6-liter engine.

Jaguar claimed the car would be capable of 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.8 seconds, capable of reaching speeds in excess of 200 mph and it could also complete the 0-100mph sprint quicker than a Bugatti Veyron.
