The first images of a concept version of BMW's replacement for the 3-Series Coupe have officially announced the Web - the BMW 4-Series, which will go into production in the near future.
Now, with the unveiling of the 4-Series Coupe Concept, BMW is looking ahead to the fourth generation of its sporty mid-range coupe – and reasserting its global leadership credentials in the process.
The coupe version of the BMW 4-Series measures wheelbase (2,810 mm) is 50 millimetres longer, 1,362 mm in height, 1,826 mm in width and 80 mm to the rear track (1,593 mm).
The 'air breather', the vent seen on the fender behind the front wheel opening, is an adjunct to the 'air curtain' aerodynamic aid.
The BMW 4-Series Coupe concept also connects the two exhaust tailpipes in a dynamic sweep at the rear apron's outer edges.
The car has the usual BMW exterior cues, with hexagonal full-LED headlights, sloping roofline, 20-inch alloy wheels, grille is also much more pronounced and a new fender vent shaped like a reversed number seven.
As expected, the design of the interior is shared with the BMW 3-Series. Apart from a liberal covering of leather featured on the concept car, chocolate-brown Alcantara headliner, natural chestnut wood trim and centre console.
Unfortunately, engine information has yet to be released, but expect the same 328i and 335i designations from the sedan to filter across to the coupe.
