When the project is actually rubber-stamped, the 2016 Porsche Pajun would for the first time become into the popular marketplace section.
The new model range is to be derived from an advanced architecture known as MSB. Porsche is developing modular rear-wheel (or all-wheel) drive matrix.
To tie in with the launch of the state-of-the-art rear-wheel drive platform, the 2016 Porsche Pajun will only be offered with V6 with a range of diesel and petrol engines.
Diesel engines provide a maximum output of 260 hp (Pajun Diesel) and 320 hp (Pajun Diesel S) two models while the gasoline engine will also provide the output of 320 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque (Pajun S). A hybrid version might also be a possibility.
A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is said to be available alongside the seven-speed manual from the new Porsche 991.
“The growth opportunity in this price range/vehicle size is likely to come from comparable products which do not conform to the traditional three-box saloon, in our view. Presumably, this is the opportunity which Porsche also sees," according to Credit Suisse analyst George Galliers.
These new models will be produced to help Porsche achieve their goal about 1.3 million units by the end of 2019 and increasing sales to 200,000 units a year.
Porsche is actually ready to give the green light to a direct rival for the Mercedes E-class, BMW 5-Series, Ferrari 458 Italia after more than a year associated with investigation as well as discussion.
