The Volvo S60 Polestar concept is heading for the Los Angels Auto Show this month, and the car will continue its world tour.
Powered by a six-cylinder engine, the S60 Polestar concept packs a punch with 506bhp and torque to a useful 424lb/ft of torque, with a six-speed manual and a modified Haldex all-wheel-drive system transferring power to the road.
This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmh (62 mph) = 3.9 seconds and hit a op speed more than 300 kmh (more than 186 mph).
"We approached this project by looking at the production Volvo S60 as a platform for a potential race car - and the culmination of that data went into the design of the S60 Polestar Concept," added Jan Andersson, chief engineer at Polestar.
The Volvo S60 Polestar features a conservative body kit, a beefier brake system, Ohlins suspension to go along with its lowered and 19-inch rims in 265/30 R19 tires.
“It's a car developed with our own preferences in mind — although we know they are also shared by active drivers,” he added.
