The  2013 Porsche Macan prototype was spied while being tested on public roads near the company’s headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.

The car will borrow most of its styling cues from its bigger brother with engines borrowed from Audi and styling borrowed from the Cayenne.

As it uses the skeleton of the 2013 Audi Q5, so it's engine lineup will be made out of both petrol and diesel engines. A turbocharged four-cylinder, 2.0-liter that produces 220 hp (164 kW) and the 3.6 liter V6 naturally aspirated with 370 hp (276 kW) for the Turbo variant.

Diesel options will include a 2.0 liter TDI engine producing 190 hp (142 kW) and a beefier V6 3.0-liter TDI generating 250 hp (186 kW).

The new Porsche Macan is expected to hit the market in 2013 as a 2014 model year.
