They have revealed the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series public debut later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

With suspension and engine upgrades complemented by lighter weight materials, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG brings more power. As such, it will deliver 622 horsepower and 468 lb-ft with V8 6.2-liter engine, from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, 0.2 of a second quicker than the standard car.

Modifications include a new air intake, engine changes center on the exhaust system, additional pressure tweaks, water cooling, camshafts and improved oil.

Exterior elements include a deeper front spoiler with carbon-fiber splitter, flared fenders, rear and side skirts, black high-gloss wing, a large central duct, the black trim on the headlights and taillights, side mirrors and enlarged air intakes.

Other changes include matte black forged alloy wheels with a 10-spoke design shod with 275/35 and 325/30 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

In addition, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is designed to handle curves with 20mm and 24mm wider front. Curb weight is down to 3417 pounds, a good 154 pounds less than the regular SLS AMG GT.

Inside, designers have removed the COMAND interface, the flat-bottomed steering wheel, a carbon center console, a strip of Alcantara, lightweight sports seats (15 kg lighter) and saving more weight.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series hasn't been priced yet, but expect a starting price of more than 200,000 pounds. The first customer deliveries are planned to get underway in June 2013.
