2013 Seat Ibiza Cupra

The 2013 Seat Ibiza Cupra has revealed production version will shown in production form for the first time ahead of its arrival in British showrooms in January.

The changes amounted to the new SEAT nose with Cupra badging, a new bumper, bi-xenon headlights, high gloss black door mirrors, a set of bigger air intakes, a new grill and 17in alloy wheels.

The interior of the 2013 Seat Ibiza Cupra gets a sport set of seats with optional two-color leather upholstery, SEAT Portable System which offers SatNav, Bluetooth audio connectivity and a new sports steering wheel carries the Cupra logo.

Power still comes from the a 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI gasoline engine produces 178bhp (132 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission and which promises a 142mph top speed. That's enough to take the three-door Ibiza from 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds and an official fuel consumption figure of 47.9mpg (4mpg less than its predecessor).

The ride height has been lowered compared to the standard car, an optional AR Performance braking kit is offered. Seat will offer an AP Performance braking system as an option.

The 2013 Seat Ibiza Cupra goes on sale next week at £18,825.
