The frugal Volkswagen Polo BlueGT has arrived in the United Kingdom with first deliveries set for mid-December. The Volkswagen Polo starts from £17,400 for the three-door model, and £18,020 for the five-door.
Externally, the Volkswagen Polo BlueGT is distinguished by multi-spoke 17-inch 'Montani' alloys while the suspension is lowered by around 15 mm. The rear bumper with diffuser, LED daytime running lights, front bumper, a black-painted front grille, front windscreen rain channels and Polo BlueMotion's side-sills.
On the interior, standard specification includes DAB radio with iPod connectivity, XDS electronic differential lock, Bluetooth phone connection and cruise control.
The Volkswagen Polo BlueGT is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 138 hp (103 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque, capable of a 130mph maximum speed and a 0-62 mph sprint in 7.9 seconds. However, the BlueGT model returns average fuel economy of 61.4 mpg on the combined cycle while emitting just 107 g/km of CO2.
