2013 Volkswagen Santana

The all-new second-generation 2013 Volkswagen Santana has been unveiled, one of the firm’s most successful models in China since 1982. The car  is produced at Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive and will reach domestic showrooms later this year.

According to the German based automaker, the Volkswagen Santana based on a lengthened Polo PQ25 platform just like the Seat Toledo and Skoda Rapid. The Volkswagen Santana has 2,603 mm wheelbase and 480 litres of cargo capacity.

The VW Santana is getting some safety features like the ESC electronic stabilization program along with front, featuring air conditioning or climate control, head airbags, alloy wheels, electronic stability control, electric sunroof and ABS.

In China the 2013 Volkswagen Santana will be sold in Comfortline, Trendline and Highline versions. Under the hood, the 1.4L four cylinder engine with its 90 HP (66 kW) and the 1.6L with 110 HP (81 kW). Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions reduction of up to 28 per cent compared with the old model.
