The third generation of the 2013 KIA Carens possibly a revival of the Rondo MPV. It has a low roofline and a long wheelbase, giving it an athletic stance that is not common in Europe's minivan segment.

The 2013 KIA Carens will be available as a five-seater and a seven-seater thanks to its long wheelbase. The vehicle is completely new from the ground up. Inside, the new Carens' interior is lightyear ahead providing stylish and spacious practicality. It features a wide touch-screen to control the infotainment system; a conventional floor-mounted shifter; a digital instrument cluster.

“The new Carens builds on the family-friendly versatility and functionality of its predecessor, and features more athletic and visually dynamic design,” said Hyoung-Keun Lee, Vice Chairman and CEO of KIA.

Engine offerings for the 2013 KIA Carnes include a 1.7-liter turbodiesel unit rated at 115 hp and 188 pound-feet of torque, and a 2.0-liter turbo four with 136 hp and 236 pound-feet of torque on tap. A manual transmission will send power to the front wheels and able to opt for a dual-clutch automatic.

After greeting the public for the first time at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, the 2013 KIA Carens will go on sale across Europe next spring. Auto reviews update the story as soon as we have any confirmation of a US launch for the new 2013 KIA Rondo.
