Volkswagen Beetle GSR Limited Edition debut at Chicago
Volkswagen has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation the 2014 Beetle GSR Limited Edition at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.
Brought back in the spotlight from the 1970s, the car was named GSR (Gelb Schwarzer Renner or “Yellow Black Racer”) and was based on a 1303S.
The new VW Beetle GSR Limited Edition is coming with the R-Line front bumper and rear bumpers and rides on 19-inch Tornado alloys with 235/40 tires. Wide black stripes run the length of the hood, black-painted brake calipers and a yellow bodyshell.
The yellow/black theme continues inside includes unique interior with black-trimmed leather sport seats; steering wheel with yellow stitching; R-Line dash pad; black floor mats and panoramic sunroof.
The new GSR Limited Edition generates up to 210 horsepower (155 kW) and has 207 pound-feet (280 Nm) of torque. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds and to reach an electronically limited Vmax of 130 mph.
The Volkswagen Beetle GSR Limited Edition will only be produced in 3,500 units; more than half are slated for the US.

Volkswagen Beetle and Beetle Cabriolet Exclusive priced from $28,900
Volkswagen announced the addition of 'Exclusive” trim level to the range for both Beetle and Beetle Cabriolet range. They will be offered in Exclusive Design and Exclusive Sport packages, and focus on perfection and uniqueness.
Designed by Volkswagen R GmbH, features include black 18-inch alloy wheels model “Twister” with polished surface and wheel lock with extended anti-theft protection, or 19-inch “Tornado” models with tire pressure monitoring display.
The interiors feature three different coloured leather seating systems available in Pepper Beige, Amber Brown and Black, and each offered with diamond stitching. Other highlights include dash panel in "Black Uni", front sports seats, three-spoke leather steering wheel, centre armrest in leather and handbrake lever.
The price tag starts from €22,650 ($28,900) for the Beetle Exclusive Design with a 1.2-liter TSI engine with 103 hp (77 kW). The Sport Exclusive comes with the 1.4l TSI that produces 158 HP – 118 kW, costs €26,550 ($33,800).

Volkswagen Beetle 53 Edition inspired by Herbie
Volkswagen has announced plans to introduce a special edition model made exclusively for Spain that pays tribute to Walt Disney Pictures' "Herbie" character, named the VW Beetle 53 Edition.
The anthropomorphic 1963 Volkswagen Beetle that shot to fame in the 1968 film The Love Bug that spawned several sequels over the years. The Volkswagen wants to bring it closer to reality and the vehicle is only destined for the Spanish market.
The Volkswagen Beetle 53 Edition gets a white paint job accentuated by red with tri-colour body stripes also using "53" decals on the bonnet and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, three different engines are available. The entry-level version getting the 1.2 liter TSI with its 105 HP (77 kW), the next is a 1.6 liter TDI diesel with 105 HP and the most powerful version getting the 2.0 liter TDI that produces 140 HP (103 kW).
The Volkswagen Beetle 53 Edition is set to hit the Spanish market soon, and its starting price has been set at 22,090 euros (US$28,400).

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Fender price starts at $24,440
Volkswagen has announced the pricing for the Beetle Fender Edition, and with the car hitting dealers soon. The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Fender will go on sale later this month and U.S. pricing starts at $24,440.
The car gets a "Deep Black Pearl Metallic" shade contrasted by the brushed chrome mirrors, Fender badging throughout, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and Bi-Xenon lighting with jewel-like LED daytime running lights.
Inside, there's a striking dashboard that incorporates the Fender badge and sport seats upholstered in V-Tex leatherette with unique cloth inserts. The 2013 Beetle Fender Edition also gets a Fender Premium Audio System with a 10-channel amplifier and a total output of 400 watts.
Under the hood, two engines are available. A 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower mated to either a five-speed manual. The second is turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine produces 200 horsepower (147 kW) that's paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Fender will cost $24,440 for the 2.5L with the manual transmission, $25,540 with the automatic. The Turbo models start at $28,130 for the manual, or $29,200 when equipped with the DSG automatic.

Volkswagen 500HP Super Beetle live in SEMA
Volkswagen unveiled a plethora of aftermarket models at the 2012 SEMA auto show, the most extreme of the bunch is VW Super Beetle and its 500 horsepower turbo four-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a manual transmission.
Next year will mark the 75 th anniversary for the iconic Beetle nameplate, and turning it into the ultra-high-performance VWvortex Super Beetle.
To handle that kind of power, the stock fuel system was upgraded, high-flow cylinder head, an ECU upgrade, high-strength internals, intake manifold and a high-performance intercooler.
The Volkswagen Super Beetle cosmetically is relatively modest, with Recaro sports seats, 19-inch wheels, an aero package, more aggressive bumpers and aggressive bumpers from Japanese aftermarket tuner Newing.

Volkswagen Beetle Remix price $26,300
Beetle Remix is the name of a new special edition Volkswagen released in Germany and pricing starts at €20,250 (about $26,300).
The Volkswagen Beetle Remix comes as standard with leather steering wheel, Black or Reflex Silver mirror casings, 17-inch retro wheels, painted trim on the dashboard, gear knob, handbrake lever and side stripes with "bug" or "beetle" badging.
According to the car manufacturer, the Volkswagen Beetle Remix equipped a TSI petrol units with their 105 HP (77 kW) - 160 HP (118 kW) and two diesels with 105PS (104hp) - 138hp (140PS).
The Volkswagen Beetle Remix also comes with lots of standard equipment, including cruise control system, Park Pilot assist, center armrest, MEDIA-IN for the RCD 310 radio, air conditioning and leather wrap for the steering wheel.
