2013 Renault Scenic XMOD ahead of Geneva debut


2013 Renault Scenic XMOD

Renault has lifted the veil the 2013 Scenic XMOD which is scheduled to debut in March at the Geneva Auto Show.

The Scenic XMOD still has the typically MPV-shaped body of the Scenic but the XMOD gets raised ride height, a new front grille, "butchier" front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, the lower section of the doors and roof bars to give it the pseudo off-roader looks.

A new seven-inch R-Link touchscreen is the main difference in the cabin and a multi-directional joystick for controlling the multimedia system.

Buyers can order it with Renault's new Extended Grip traction control system with a rotary knob located on the center console.

The Grip Xtend has three modes: Road, Loose Ground and Expert, while boot capacity of the new XMOD is also increased over the Scenic, up from 522 litres to 555 litres.

Renault Scénic XMOD will be revealed in a world premiere on March 5, 2013 at the Geneva Auto Show and available for test drives shortly after.

Renault Kangoo facelift official revealed


Renault Kangoo facelift

Renault has revealed the facelifted 2013 Kangoo Phase 2 ahead of its European launch in April.

The changes are immediately apparent, including the introduction of a new front end which incorporates the styling cues of Renault's new design language, with a more prominent, vertically positioned logo. The new design highlights its robustness and modernity.

Most exterior changes take place on the front end of the van, as well as new door mirrors and headlights - and inside, there's a new centre console and new steering wheel.

Inside, Renault redesigned the center console comes with new equipment features includes a connected multimedia system with in-dash TomTom navigation, ESC with Hill Start Assist and Grip Xtend, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, the connected in-dash Renault R-Link multimedia system.

The Kangoo Van range offers two wheelbase lengths, three 1.5-litre dCi engines - 75PS, 90PS and 110PS and a choice of two- or five-seat versions of the Kangoo Maxi.

Renault Captur crossover revealed

These are the first official pictures of the production version of the Renault Captur crossover, following Tuesday's teaser video.

Based on the Renault Clio hatchback, the French firm's latest crossover featuring the new fourth-generation supermini's bold front-end and sculpted side surfaces. The vehicle is 4120mm long, making it longer than the 3,986mm Clio but slightly shorter than the 4,135mm Juke.

Although it's not as striking as the concept, the Captur equipped with upmarket features such as chrome trim all around, a steeply-raked windscreen, LED running lights up front and a two-tone paint scheme.

Renault claims that the Captur is designed to feel like an MPV inside with lots of stowage options and a large boot.

All models will comes with a tablet-like touch screen, keyless entry, control Renault's R-Link infotainment system, parking sensors fitted, Bluetooth and a six-speaker stereo.

Under the bonnet will be the usual range of Clio engines, including the turbocharged, 3-cylinder, 0.9-liter engine develops 89 hp (66 kW) and 89bhp 1.5-litre turbodiesel units CO2 emissions will be as low as 96g/km in the diesel.

The 2013 Renault Captur will be built at Renault’s Valladolid plant in Spain and will make its public debut in March at the Geneva Auto Show.

2013 Renault Clio RS pricing €24,950 in Belgium

With a starting price of €24,950 in Belgium, the 2013 Renault Clio RS has offer us a fresh look into the carmaker’s new hot hatch.

In Belgium (at least), the car will be offered in five color options: Glacier White; Red Flame; Deep Black / Platinum Grey and Sirius Yellow. All provided with standard 17-inch wheels (Silver model) or optional 18-inch alloy wheels (aluminum Radical and Radical-gloss black with red brake calipers).

In addition, customers can get it with fabric black upholstery with red stitching (RS fabric) or leather white or light gray option (probably Black Carbon in France) with red stitching (DaRiviera).

The future owners of the brand new Renault Clio RS generation will get 1.6-liter turbocharged engine rated at 200 HP (147 kW) and 177 lb-ft (234 Nm). The power unit is connected to an EDC six-speed double-clutch gearbox.

2013 Renault Captur crossover teaser

 

Renault wished everybody a happy New Year today after release a lone computer-generated teaser image that previews the upcoming 2013 Renault Captur crossover.

They didn't go into detail at all, but the crossover's front end is heavily inspired by the fourth-generation Clio hatchback. We find the new Captur has more in common with another new the Peugeot 2008 revealed yesterday.

The 2013 Renault Captur crossover's precise dimensions are unknown but the idea of this car was that each person could be its hero.

According to a report says the crossover can be equipped with the dCi 130 used by Megan and Nissan Qashqai along with a five-speed manual or the optional six-speed EDC double-clutch automatic.

Renault will present it to the public for the first time at the Geneva Auto Show next March.

Renault Mégane Estate GT 220 special edition will launched in France later this month with turbo engine with 220 horsepower and loads of cargo space.

Mégane Estate GT 220 is a Renault Sport limited edition car for customers who wish to combine the benefits of an estate car with sport performance.

Designed to combine sport with practicality, the car features a gloss black 18-inch 'Serdard' wheels, GT 220 badging, ranging from the door mirrors and diffuser, a numbered plate and body-colour door handles.

The interior has also been given the Renaultsport treatment with red stitching, individually-numbered "GT 220" plate and a unique gear knob.

The Renault Mégane Estate GT 220 has also been equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, braking performance to match its sporty calling, emissions under the EU's radar and the same high-performance tyres as Mégane RS.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine delivering peak power of 220 hp (162 kW) and maximum torque of 340 Nm (251 lb-ft), the car returns fuel consumption of just 7.3 litres/100km, equivalent to 169g of CO2/km.

Renault will only produce a limited number of these sport-wagons, and offered in 11 European markets as well as Japan.

Renault Gordini return to racing roots

Renault Gordini is the "ultimate track-focused" vehicles, chief operating officer Carlos Tavares has confirmed. Gordini was acquired by Renault in 1969, a successful F1 team in the early 1950s.

Name will only be used on track-focused models and accompanied Renault’s established performance division. While the Gordini name has been used on cosmetically upgraded versions of the Clio and Twingo.

“Renaultsport models will be sporty and Gordini will be a step beyond, the ultimate track-focused car. Renault Gordini will only be sold for the road as a derivative of a special track car,” said by Tavares.

2013 Renault Fluence makes debut in Istanbul

Surfacing for the first time at this year's Istanbul Motor Show is the 2013 Renault Fluence facelift, it will launch the car in 55 key international markets by the end of 2013.

On the outside the updated Renault Fluence adapts the brand's new styling identity with the soft-V shaped black grille, redesigned LED daytimers, which also give the car a “dynamic” roof.

“The changes featured on New Renault Fluence are perfectly in phase with the needs of our key international markets, like Turkey and Russia”, says the Renault Fluence project marketing manager, Hyun-Young Kwak.

Interior changes are limited but is as roomy as ever. The 2013 Renault Fluence comes with a host of driver aids like the hands free phone controls, a passive entry system, automatic parking brake, Bluetooth/USB connectivity, audio system and the Renault R-Link infotainment system.

Two engines are new to the powerplant menu, the first is a new 1.6 liter 16-valve petrol engine that is connected to an X-Tronic continuously variable transmission (CVT). Renault says significant reduction in fuel consumption to 6.4 liters/100km, while CO2 emissions of 149g/km.

In addition, the diesel range also includes the 1.6-liter dCi 130, which is burning 4.6 L/100km (51.1 mpg US / 61.4 mpg UK) and it's emitting 119 g/km of CO2.

2013 Renault Symbol debut ahead Istanbul Motor Show

 

The 2013 Renault Symbol that will be given its first public airing on Friday at the Istanbul Motor Show in Turkey, which they sell in markets like Algeria and Tunisia.

Essentially a rebadged the 2013 Dacia Logan, the Renault Symbol features a unique front bumper which in combination with Renault's signature grille, a new bumper, distinctive taillights and blacked out B-pillars.

Engine options include a TCe 90, dCi 75 and dCi 90. The 2013 Renault Symbol 0.9-liter TCe turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 90 HP (66 kW) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque that returns 5.3 liters/100km. Likewise, the dCi 75PS and dCi 90PS that returns 3.9 liters/100km and 103g/km respectively while equivalent to 122g of CO2/km.

Interior pictures were not released, but the 2013 Renault Symbol comes with Renault Media Nav multimedia navigation system complete, seven-inch (18cm) touchscreen color display, USB/Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and a 60/40-split folding rear bench seat.

Renault DCross live in Sao Paulo

The Renault DCross concept based on the Dacia Duster and is aimed at primarily at the Brazilian market has been launched at the 2012 Sao Paulo Auto Show.

"In Brazil customers love the rough image of the Duster, so this takes that to the maximum. It's been 100 per cent developed by Brazilian designers in our studio here in Sao Paulo," Olivier Murguet, CEO of Renault Brazil, told us.

Finished in lurid green paint, the concept is easily distinguished from the Duster with its new front grille, a spare wheel on the roof, chrome alloy wheels and headlight design.

"We never do anything without having a good idea of where we're going. This is a vision of the future," Murguet revealed.

2014 Renault Clio Cup officially revealed

Renault just unveiled its all-new Clio Cup road-going car in Paris and will begin racing in the UK in 2014. The 2014 Renault Clio Cup will be exclusively offered will go on sale in September of 2013 with pricing starts at €37,800 (about $49,286 at the current rates).

Currently undergoing testing, the Renault Clio Cup is distinguished by 17-inch Speedline Corse alloy wheels wrapped in performance rubber to keep the Clio glued to the track. There's also a rear wing that provides 40kg (88 pounds) of downforce at 125mph (201 km/h).

“We will continue to run the existing car in the British championship through 2013, with the intention to then introduce the new turbo-charged Clio Cup car the following season. Getting the timing right is very important, the car will race in the Clio Eurocup next year so our teams in the UK will have ample opportunity to see it in action ahead of its planned 2014 UK debut,” said Renault UK Communications Director Jeremy Townsend.

Power is provided by a 1.6-litre turbo-powered engine tuned by Oreca Magny-Cours that produces 220 horsepower and 270 Nm (199 pound-feet) of torque. A six-speed sequential gearbox with an AP Racing clutch and the power is wheels via a limited-slip differential.

The 2013 Renault Clio is offered exclusively as a five door model and lighter by 100 kg or 220 pounds than its predecessor. In the United Kingdom, prices range from £10,595 to £16,095.

All models feature 16-inch alloy wheels; unique grille; LED daytime running lights; sill extensions; packs front fog lights and angular headlights.

Standard equipment with 2013 Renault Clio includes rear parking sensors, gloss black interior door handles, seven-inch touchscreen navigation system, electric front windows, keyless entry, climate control, automatic wipers, an Arkamys sound system, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The fourth-generation 2013 Renault Clio is scheduled to hit European showrooms shortly after debut at the Paris Auto Show this morning and it will be offered exclusively as a five-door model.

Heavily inspired by the DeZir concept car, the 2013 Renault Clio RS will be sold only with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine linked to a small turbocharger and six-speed transmission. It has the amount of power 197hp (200PS) at 6,000 rpm and a higher peak torque at 240Nm (+25Nm) reaches this peak torque at 1,750 rpm.

As standard, the 2013 Renault Clio comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, angular headlights, the unique grille and sill extensions.

As for the cabin, sports bucket seats and can upgrade wrapped around in leather; red accents used throughout; hands free entry; touchscreen navigation; a sports steering wheel flanked; R-Link infotainment system and a dedicated instrument package.
