McLaren P1 official performance figures announced
Following a leak earlier today, the McLaren P1 long-awaited new hypercar has been revealed - poised for its global debut in Geneva next week.
McLaren has closely monitored demand so as to maintain exclusivity, and announced a production number of just 375 units – a figure that will ensure the McLaren P1™ will remain a rarity and, if spotted on the road, an unforgettable sight.
A mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine is substantially enhanced featuring and an electric motor, to give a combined output of 916PS (903 bhp) and 660 lb-ft. of torque. Both send power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
With Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) turned on, the P1 will hit 0-62 run is quoted at less than 3 seconds, 0-124 mph in under 7; and reach 186mph in around 17 seconds, according to McLaren's official figures.
It rides on bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and the hybrid powertrain allows the P1 to emit less than 200g/km of CO2.
To rein in the power produced by the twin powerplants, the McLaren P1 is designed to offer braking performance more associated with a GT3 or sports racing car.
The McLaren P1 will have a starting price of £866,000 and $1,150,000 (approx 1,004,800 EUR).

McLaren P1 production version at NYC private event
During a private event, the McLaren P1 production version will stay true to the concept car’s looks - scheduled to come out sometime next year.
During the show the P1 was said to be "97-percent final," will be retained for the production model. Including full carbon fiber discs with a mirror finish, vents in the fenders ahead of the front wheels, superaluminum wheels and at the back it will feature a tighter mesh design.
At the presentation, a McLaren spokesperson said: "This car is a production car. This is 97 percent of the car that you will be able to order. The only thing that we will add are some vents to the bumper to get some of the warm air from the radiator coming out from the side."
