A saloon version of the new Mazda3 Fastback Sedan will be joining the lineup of models on offer later this year, include two bodystyles - hatchback and fastback (saloon).

Both body styles are wider and lower than the current model, with the saloon features a different roof, rear window, rear wings. While the Fastback is 120mm longer than the already large hatch, contributing to an increase in boot space of 69 litres compared to the hatchback. Like the Mazda3 hatchback, the saloon has the 2,700mm wheelbase.

Buyers will be offered a choice of three naturally-aspirated high compression petrol powerplants or one turbocharged diesel engine, all of which are fitted as standard with a start-stop system.

The basic engine is the 100ps SKYACTIV-G 1.5-litre petrol engine; delivering up to 56.4mpg (combined cycle) paired with the six-speed Skyactiv-MT manual gearbox. When fitted with the standard six-speed manual transmission the Mazda3 Fastback emits only 118 grams per km of CO2.

Next up is the Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter petrol develops 118bhp and 162bhp petrol engines. The 118bhp engine averages 55.3mpg while emits 119g/km of CO2 and the 162bhp unit is rated at 48.7mpg and 135g/km of CO2.

Lastly,  the 150ps Skyactiv-D clean 2.2-litre diesel, 380Nm of torque at 1,800rpm. While its emissions are stated to be an equally thrifty 104g/km of CO2. The car available with a manual or automatic gearbox and returns up to 72.5mpg.

Lastly, there's the most frugal of the bunch adn Pricing for the new Mazda 3 Fastback will be announced in September.

2014 Mazda6 price starts at $20,880

The 2014 Mazda6 is finally available in the United States in three trim levels starts at $20,880 – *excluding a $795 destination fee, title, taxes, license and other fees.

The entry-level i Sport model priced from $20,880 MSRP with a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine that develops 184 hp (137 kW) and 185 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. In this format, official EPA fuel consumption reaches 25 mpg city and 37 highway, for a combined figure of 29 mpg. With the optional 6-speed automatic it can do 26 / 38 / 30.

The mid-range i Touring starts from $24,495 is equipped with the optional SKYACTIV-Drive automatic as well as dual-zone automatic climate control with rear seat vents and 19-inch alloys.

At the top end of the range, the 2014 Mazda6 i Grand Touring that starts at $29,495 MSRP including bi-xenon HID headlights, brings power moonroof, heated front seats and rear lip spoiler. Buyers can snap up a tech package that includes TomTom navigation and an 11-speaker Bose Centerpoint sound system for $2,000.

Now entering its seventh year in showrooms, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 global debuts for the L.A. auto show that runs for the public from November 30 to December 9, 2012.

For 2013 - which we first saw at last month's Sydney Motor Show, the biggest member of the Mazda lineup taking nearly identical design cues from the TAKERI Concept and "Soul of Motion" design language.

"It's definitely an exciting time for the Zoom-Zoom brand," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO.

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 borrows its restyled grille and front-end design from Mazda's CX-5 compact crossover. Inside, the cabin is the automaker's next-generation infotainment, a 5.8-inch color multi-information touch screen display and a speech-recognition (HMI).

The 2013 CX-9 is powered by a turbocharged SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter diesel engine, capable of hitting 24 mpg on the highway.

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 is in showrooms today with  a base price of $29,785, while both the 2014 CX-5 and 2014 Mazda6 will go on sale in January 2013.

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 has undergone a second refresh and goes on sale in the US with a slightly higher starting price of $30,580 (including a $795 destination charge).

After debuting the 2013 CX-9 for the first time at the Sydney motor show last month, the car wears new sheetmetal to help bring the car in line with the KODO “ Soul of Motion” design language.

On the $30,580 front-drive 2013 Mazda CX-9 Sport, which comes equipped with Bluetooth, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, the aforementioned 5.8-inch MID, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and three-zone automatic climate control. A $690 option pack can add a power driver's seat, heated front seats, and heated side mirrors.

Stepping up to the 2013 Mazda CX-9 Touring costs $33,025 and the most noticeable improvement is leather seating along with both front seats get power adjustment features. You also get auto on/off headlights, blind spot monitoring, backup sensors and a rearview camera that's the same as the one on the CX-5. There's also the Touring technology package for an extra $3,000, which includes a navigation system, premium 10-speaker sound system, hands-free keyless entry and power liftgate.

Finally, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring wears a sticker price of $35,580 and adds chrome door handles, HID headlights and LED daytime running lights, a three-position memory driver seat, 20-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers and Bordeaux interior accents. The all-wheel-drive model carries an MSRP of $37,170.

Nothing has changed in the engine bay, meaning the Mazda CX-9 continues to use a 273-hp, 3.7-liter V-6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission while fuel economy of 16-17/22-24 mpg city/highway.

Mazda RX-7 is scheduled for 2017

While we do miss the recently departed Mazda RX-8, luckily for us, the new Mazda RX-7 has been confirmed by the firm's sports car chief. The car will be light and power, just like an RX-7 should be.

According to the company’s sports car chief, Nobuhiro Yamamoto, the RX-7's introduction coincides with the 50 years after the company's first Wankel-powered vehicle, the 1967 Cosmo Sport 110S.

The new Mazda RX-7 will probably get a naturally-aspirated rotary engine, the car will use Mazda's next-generation 16X rotary engine. The 1.6-liter rotary engine is said to be capable of 300 horsepower (224 kW), and that it will feature SKYACTIV technology so that the motor should be emissions-compliant around the globe.

“For a pure sportscar, it must be internal combustion,” Yamaoto said.

The Mazda RX-7 is expected to share the same basic architecture as the next-generation Mazda MX-5, but the car will be heavier and larger, and with an extended wheelbase.

The car will be a two-seater in all markets except for Japan, models will feature a small back seat. Yamaoto did say that the new Mazda RX-7 weighs around 2,800 pounds, aluminum will be used extensively.

The new RX-7 is expected to go on sale sometime in 2017, Auto Review Blog told to expect a price above that of the Nissan 370Z, which starts at around $33,000.

Bowing today at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata boasts a sharper and more aggressive look inspired by the automaker's new design language.

The new version of the Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster features a new grille and fog lamps housings. Models with the power retractable hardtop also have a revised fog lamp design and 17-inch wheels.

More nimble thanks to revised throttle Revised characteristics and the brakes appear identical on the spec sheet. The 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata also gets an active hood protection system, modified throttle response in manual transmission models and wiring harness.

Apart from the sharper throttle response, the Mazda MX-5 Miata is equipped a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produce 167 hp and 140 pound-feet of torque.

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 took to the stage today at the Australian International Motor Show is inspired by the KODO "Soul of Motion" design language that was introduced on the smaller Mazda CX-5 crossover.

For its second facelift, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 making some minor tweaks to the interior and adding a raft of new safety features such as a lane departure warning system and a high beam control system.

The enhancements inside include different color schemes and retaining the current model's seven-passenger seating capacity. The 2013 Mazda CX-9 SUV has also outfitted it with more luxurious interior amenities for the seats, satin-silver decorative trims, a new infotainment system, a redesigned shift knob, a speech-recognition device and the instrument panel gauges that also get new finishes.

Like the all-new 2014 Mazda6, Mazda’s CX-9 though a 3.7-liter V6 engine that is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission that produce 273hp (203kW) and peak torque of 367Nm.

After debuting in Sydney Auto Show, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 crossover will make its way to the United States in January.

These are the first images with the upcoming 2014 Mazda3 ahead of its official debut next summer. Auto Review Blog can't be sure these pictures are 100 percent real, but the design and detail very reliable.

The company's UK division says that these are digital renderings drawn up to show how the Kodo design language translates to new model. The 2014 Mazda3 will be available as a 5-door hatchback as well as a 4-door sedan. The latter will compete with the forthcoming Audi A3 and the new VW Golf.

The smiley face is gone instead is a front grille, fancy headlights, a chrome trim flowing into the headlights and an upswept crease mark out the sides.

As previously reported , the 2014 Mazda3 is equipped a 2.0-liter gasoline engine 4-cylinder output 155 hp (116 kW), all that thanks to the company's SkyActiv fuel-saving technology.

Mazda MX-5 upgrades by BBR

BBR (Brodie Britain Racing) has developed two new supercharger packages for the lightweight Mazda MX-5 roadster, which will boost the power figure considerably.

The tuner's offerings start with the Stage One kit that includes an Eaton MP62 supercharger; StarChip ECU; a new intercooler; replacement air box and high-flow injectors. Stage Two costs $8,005 excluding VAT. These changes enable the engines:

  1. A 1.8-liter cars power outputs up to 217 hp and its torque to 176 lb-ft (238 Nm).

  2. A 2.0-liter MK3 that produce 235 BHP (175 kW) and 190 lb-ft (257 Nm) of torque.

  3. A 2.0 MK3.5 produce 241 bhp respectively and 190 lb-ft (257 Nm) of torque.


Mazda MX-5 gets more performance with the Stage Two conversion includes a new exhaust system, a performance air filter, a revised ECU and a stainless sports exhaust system (which in addition to the parts mentioned above). Stage Two costs $10,250 excluding VAT. These changes enable the engines:

  1. A 1.8-liter engine output to 217 bhp and its torque to 176 lb-ft (238 Nm).

  2. A 2.0-liter MK3 produce 252 bhp (188 kW) and 208 lb-ft (282 Nm) of torque.

  3. A 2.0 MK3.5 produce 258 bhp (192 kW) and 208 lb-ft (282 Nm) of torque.


The Cosworth-based system has been in development for the last 12 months, in order to make it perfectly compatible with all different variants of the third-generation Mazda MX-5.

As always, the best thing about the 2013 Mazda3 MPS is pricing information of 23,995 pounds and will be available in a choice of four exterior colours named Aluminium Silver, Black Mica, Crystal White Pearlescent and Velocity Red.

Under the hood, the 2013 Mazda3 MPS power comes from a 2.3-liter MZR DISI Turbo gasoline engine that produces 256bhp (260PS) and a peak torque of 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) at 3,000 rpm. Can scuttle the little Mazda to 62mph in 6.1 seconds and has a restricted top speed of 155mph (250km/h).

The power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox to a limited-slip differential. The new Mazda3 MPS also features a dual exhaust system for greater acoustic appeal.

The 2013 Mazda3 MPS rides on gunmetal-finish 18-inch alloys, a Black Mica finish for the inner roof spoiler, Bi-Xenon headlights, a big rear wing,  lower rear bumper trim and door mirror housings.

2014 Mazda6 live in Paris Auto Show

The 2014 Mazda6 are the focal point at the 2012 Paris Auto Show this today. The next-generation Mazda6 uses the KODO "Soul of Motion" design language with hard lines for a dynamic look and is heavily influenced by the Takeri concept.

Redesigned from the ground up, the 2014 Mazda6 will be equipped with SKYACTIV engine and three gasoline and two diesel units. The four-cylinder gasoline range comprises the 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G producing 134  horsepower and 162Hp (121kW / 165PS), and a 2.5-liter mill with 189 ponies and 189 lb-ft of twist.

The Mazda6 will inaugurate i-ELOOP, promises to improve fuel economy, which is said to improve efficiency by up to 10 percent.

In the United Kingdom, the new 2014 Mazda6 will go on sale in January priced starting at £19,595 (see price list with picture below) and market penetration North America in early 2013.

The first official images of the revamped 2013 Mazda CX-9 crossover officially revealed, that will make its public debut take place in Australia next month.

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 facelift gets a new front end that inspired by the KODO "Soul of Motion" design language that was introduced on the Mazda CX-5 crossover, Zoom-Zoom driving dynamics and a three-row interior cabin.

Mazda promises that the next-gen CX-9 will have new safety features like Lane Departure Warning; a high beam control system; Forward Obstruction Warning and a lane departure warning system.

In Australia the 2013 Mazda CX-9 will be sold exclusively a 3.2-liter V6 engine linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission, four-cylinder SkyActiv gasoline and diesel units will likely follow. Like the all-new 2014 Mazda6, feature a variety of SKYACTIV technologies gas-saving.

At the end of last month, the 2014 Mazda6 was leakage before launch public appearance at this month's Paris Motor Show. Today, Mazda has release a new wagon variant and fresh photos of the 2014 Mazda6.

Scheduled to go on sale later on this year in Europe, the 2014 Mazda6 wagon will be available with a choice of two four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G petrol unit. A SKYACTIV-G, 2.0-liter producing 148hp (150PS) and a 2.5-liter with 189hp (192PS). There's also the SKYACTIV-G, a 2.5-liter engine with 189 HP (141 kW) and 189 lb-ft (256 Nm).

The 2014 Mazda6 also the first model to feature i-ELOOP, the Japanese automaker’s first brake energy regeneration system, promises to improve fuel economy and can store more energy.

Mazda did not release any pictures of the Mazda6 wagon's interior, but the new 2014 Mazda6 is already around 110 pounds lighter and roomier.

The 2014 Mazda6 has finally released official teasers, will be unveiled in late September at the Paris Motor Show and feature a variety of SKYACTIV technologies. The 2014 Mazda6 next generation uses the KODO “Soul of Motion” design language with hard lines for a dynamic look and is heavily influenced by the Takeri concept.

Mazda confirmed that the new Mazda6 “will be the brand’s proprietary engineering focus on developing fuel-efficient, performance-oriented vehicles as a result of lightweight and redesigned engine, transmission, chassis and body structures.”

The 2014 Mazda6 also the first model to feature i-ELOOP, the Japanese automaker’s first brake energy regeneration system, promises to improve fuel economy and can store more energy.

In European, the 2014 Mazda6 is being shown with a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine with a two-stage turbocharger. Buyers will be choose six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission.

2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata officially revealed



The 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata which is currently hitting Japanese showrooms and should arrive in the US before the year is out. In Japan , the updated 2013 MX-5 Miata starts at 2,330,000 Yen (about US$29,200 / €23,300).

Subtle changes to the exterior of the Mazda MX-5 Miata a more aggressive front end. Known as the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata overseas, the two-seater open-top sports car receives a larger grille; a revised fog lamp design; new 17-inch aluminum wheels and chrome bezels for the hard-top model.

Inside, seats are now available in new tan leather while a Glossy Dark Gray finish is used for the decoration panel and black leather materials.

Performance enhancements for the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata include enhanced acceleration control for manual transmission models, hood protection system for pedestrian safety, improved braking control and technology improvements include the Active Bonnet.

Apart from the sharper throttle response, the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata all models in the US will come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produce 167 hp and 140 pound-feet of torque.
