BMW i3 Coupe Concept live in Los Angeles Auto Show
The BMW i3 Concept Coupe is a two-door version, "stream flow" design wrapping its LifeDrive architecture and Life Module cabin.
The carbon-fibre body's visual impact is largely shaped by the gracefully flowing coupe roof line, that saves weight while adding safety strength.
Measuring 3,964 millimetres in length, 1,768 wide and 1,555 high, the BMW i3 Concept Coupe can be noted for its highly individual proportions.
The rear wheels are driven by an electric motor that produces 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft and power is sends to the rear wheels via a single-gear transmission.
The motor's energy source is a lithium-ion battery pack in the car's floor, which sits low to the ground to improve the car's center of gravity for optimal handling.

2013 Mazda CX-9 live in Los Angeles Auto Show
Now entering its seventh year in showrooms, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 global debuts for the L.A. auto show that runs for the public from November 30 to December 9, 2012.
For 2013 - which we first saw at last month's Sydney Motor Show, the biggest member of the Mazda lineup taking nearly identical design cues from the TAKERI Concept and "Soul of Motion" design language.
"It's definitely an exciting time for the Zoom-Zoom brand," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO.
The 2013 Mazda CX-9 borrows its restyled grille and front-end design from Mazda's CX-5 compact crossover. Inside, the cabin is the automaker's next-generation infotainment, a 5.8-inch color multi-information touch screen display and a speech-recognition (HMI).
The 2013 CX-9 is powered by a turbocharged SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter diesel engine, capable of hitting 24 mpg on the highway.
The 2013 Mazda CX-9 is in showrooms today with a base price of $29,785, while both the 2014 CX-5 and 2014 Mazda6 will go on sale in January 2013.

2013 Honda Civic live in Los Angeles Auto Show
About 18 months after debuting as a new-for-2012 model, the 2013 Honda Civic has introduced this morning at the Los Angeles Auto Show has updated styling.
The 2013 Civic gets significant updates inside and out, which the Japanese automaker hopes will stem the tide of criticism levied at the completely redesigned 2012 model.
The 2013 Honda Civic gets a new grille, clear-lens corner lights, compact sporting an updated lower bumper, updated taillights and different wheels, a chrome-trimmed black honeycomb mesh grille plus a deeper front bumper opening.
Changes to the Civic's interior are designed to give it a more premium feel, feature a rearview camera; a dashboard is visually similar to the outgoing model; an outside temperature gauge; USB and iPod connections; a sliding center armrest; a color LCD screen; audio controls on the steering wheel and SMS text and Pandora.
Newly optional safety tech includes retuned the suspension, a forward collision alert system, a lane departure warning system and steering settings to sharpen the Civic's handling.
The price will jump by $160 across the line, the base 2013 Honda Civic LX model starts at $18,165 and a Civic sedan at $18,995, including the $790 shipping charge.

2014 KIA Sorento live in Los Angeles Auto Show
Along with 2014 KIA Forte feature slinky new styling and a condensed engine line, the 2014 KIA Sorento crossover has pulled his secret curtain at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
According to the Korean automaker, the CUV's front and rear fascias have been updated; LED taillamps; black-mesh grilles; bright-chrome and optional 19-inch wheels are another first for the Sorento.
Inside it has a redesigned instrument panel, a 7-inch TFT display for the gauge cluster and revamped infotainment. There's are also a programmable power liftgate, ventilated/cooled front seats, second-row sunshades, a driver-selectable steering system similar to the Santa Fe Sport's and panoramic sunroof.
The all-aluminum V6 3.3-liter GDI engine that produces 290 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque, all the 2014 KIA Sorento come standard with a six-speed automatic. Trim levels carry over and include LX, EX, LX V6, EX V6 and SX; a top-of-the-line SX Limited is new for 2014.
According to KIA, the new chassis increases torsional rigidity by 18 percent, a more rigid body structure and revised SUV sits 10mm lower.

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV live in LA Auto Show
We've previewed it, and now we can bring you live photos of the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV has been officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Chevy is confident it will offer one of the longest ranges in its class, with the capability to accept SAE Combo DC Fast Charging. An onboard charging receptacle accommodates 120- and 240-volt outlets, owners can hit 50 percent charge in 12 minutes and 80 percent in just 20 minutes.
“Spark EV's battery has undergone more than 200 ,000 hours of testing in our global battery systems labs,” said Larry Nitz, executive director of GM's global electrification engineering team. “This testing paved the way to allow our customers to do multiple DC Fast Charges daily to help alleviate range anxiety and improve convenience.”
In the Chevrolet Spark EV engine bay lies an electric motor - good for 130 horsepower and an impressive 400 pound-feet of torque, the car scoots to 60 mph in less than eight seconds.
Inside, the Spark EV has two 7-inch color screens and Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system.
The compact electric vehicle will be launching initially in California, Oregon, Canada, and South Korea, the MSRP is close to $33,000 - it isn't the cheapest electric vehicles on the market.

2014 Ford Fiesta ST live in Los Angeles Auto Show
Ford has officially introduced its performance-minded the 2014 Fiesta ST at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Along with 2014 Ford Fiesta, American buyers are finally enjoying something of a small performance car renaissance.
Powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST 1.6-liter EcoBoost has initially rated at 197 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque.
Even with the high-spec engine, peak torque is available at 3500 rpm while the hot hatch will achieve 34 mpg combined in the fuel economy department. The car also gets an electronic Torque Vectoring Control, sports suspension, better brakes and a three-mode stability control system.
The Ford Fiesta ST gets aggressive styling to back up its performance include sportier side skirts, special 17-inch wheels, lower chin spoiler, a rear fascia diffuser and a gaping mesh grille with an ST badge in the corner.
Like the Focus ST, the car is available with MyFord Touch, shift knob, natural voice-recognition technology, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and highly bolstered Recaro sport seats.
Unfortunately, Ford has yet to reveal U.S. pricing for the new Fiesta ST.

2014 Porsche Cayman live in Los Angeles Auto Show
The brand new second-generation 2014 Porsche Cayman broke cover yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
As expected, the new model is essentially a closed-roof version of the Porsche Boxster roadster.
The base 2013 Porsche Cayman in the engine bay will be the buyer's choice of two flat-six motors: a 2.7-liter making 275 hp - capable of hitting 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds and upgrading to the Porsche Cayman S nets a 325-bhp 3.4-liter flat-6 cylinder - will blast to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
Also available are carbon ceramic brakes, new power steering, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), active transmission mounts (another feature of the Sport Chrono package), a brake-induced torque-vectoring system and optional carbon ceramic brakes.
Pricing hasn't been announced, but based on the current Boxster's asking price, the 2014 Porsche Cayman will begin at $52,600 for the base model, and the Cayman S will command $63,800.

2014 Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series live in LA Auto Show
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, a designation emblematic of extreme horsepower enhancements has officially landed at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Mercedes says the car draws its exterior design inspiration from the company's SLS AMG GT3 racecar, all in keeping with its circuit bred lineage.
The car boasts 622 total horsepower, 6.3-liter normally aspirated V-8, the SLS AMG Black Series hits 60 mph from a complete stop in just 3.5 seconds, and reach a 196mph top speed.
As a reminder, the car gets a rear diffuser; flared fenders; tinted headlights along with matte-black alloy wheels include 19-inch in the front - 20-inch in the rear.
Further engine changes centre around the exhaust system, a stiffer suspension, chassis developments wider, enlarged air intakes with carbon-fiber flics.
The 2014 Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series will hit the market next summer, but us expect it to close in on $300,000.

2014 Ford Fiesta live in Los Angeles Auto Show
Aiming to grow its position in the small car segment, Ford has pulled the sheet on its refreshed 2014 Ford Fiesta sub-compact at the L.A. Auto Show on Wednesday.
Using Ford's turbocharging and direct-injection technology, which now gets optional 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine that produces 123-hp and 148 lb-ft of torque.
“Our goal with this Fiesta was to take a car that was already a leader in fuel efficiency, performance, connectivity and personality, and make it even better,” says Mark Fields, Ford president of The Americas.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta gets an upgraded interior with an available MyFord Touch 6 .5-inch LCD sits atop the subcompact 's center stack, simpler Bluetooth pairing and upgraded navigation controls.
The EPA has yet to certify the Ford Fiesta EcoBoost, but is projected to get more than 40 miles per gallon, Ford said.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta will come to the US market in the second half of next year, while the engine has commanded a roughly $1,000 to the price of the vehicle.

2014 Acura RLX live in Los Angeles Auto Show
Unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, Acura has officially taken the wraps off its all-new flagship sedan, the 2014 Acura RLX.
Identical outside to the RLX concept car teasing us earlier this year, the new Acura RLX earing a wide, sleek appearance, the car features standard 18-inch wheels designed to reduce tire noise.
Like a true flagship sedan, the 2014 Acura RLX should also roll with more vigor and improved mpg. A new direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6 put out 310 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque, while the Sport Hybrid Super Handling AWD system sends 370 hp to all four wheels.
The engine will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, capable of returning a fuel economy of 20/31 mpg city/highway and 24 mpg combined.
The overall interior looks clean and uncluttered, and the dual cowl-style dashboard is covered in far more premium materials. The cabin has leather and wood trim, an audio system by Krell with 14 speakers, a USB-port, forward collision warning, camera monitoring systems, two LCD screens, Milano leather seats and Acura Link infotainment system.
Pricing has yet to be released but the front-wheel-drive 2014 Acura RLX should hit dealers early next year.

2013 Toyota RAV4 live in LA Auto Show
With a sleek, upscale new look the 2013 Toyota RAV4 met the press today at the 2012 LA Auto Show.
The fourth-gen RAV4 inherits thanks in part to Camry -inspired headlights, pronounced side character lines, sloping roofline, 73.1 cubic feet of cargo space, sculpted front, sweeping headlamps, and rear bumpers combine for a more athletic look.
Inside the 2013 Toyota RAV4 is likely to get a slightly more upscale interior, with a better-finished interior with Toyota's latest infotainment gear. Standard on all RAV4s are a backup camera; 60/40 split rear seats that recline and fold; Bluetooth connectivity and available as an option is Entune.
The sole powerplant is a 2.5-liter four cylinder making three fewer horsepower that produces 176 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. Highway mileage in the front-wheel drive model goes up at 22/28 mpg with the four-speed automatic.
On the safety front, a blind spot monitoring system, eight airbags, rear cross-traffic alert systems, dual-zone automatic climate control, anti-lock disc brakes, traction control and stability control.
The 2013 Toyota RAV4 will hit the market in January but prices won't be released until Dec 17.

2014 Subaru Forester live in LA Auto Show
Subaru’s fourth-generation Forester crossover introduced Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, might not seem to have outstanding looks.
The 2014 Subaru Forester gains an entirely new front end, a rear spoiler, a more aggressive mesh grille, revised fog and headlights, body-colored side mirrors, sleeker tail lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels in place of the standard 17s.
The next-gen Forester gets a significant platform upgrade including 1.4 inches longer, 1.3 inches taller and 0.6 inches wider with a wheelbase that's stretched 0.9 inches.
Inside, Subaru says it has tweaked the cabin for more legroom and cargo room. The dashboard is quite similar to that of the Imprezam, Harmon/Kardon audio and a new gauge cluster.
Power for 2014 Subaru Forester comes from a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine that produces 170hp and 174 lb-ft of torque and a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four that produces 250 hp and 258 lb-ft of twist.
Power will be put to all four wheels through the brand's all-wheel drive system, while fuel economy is up across the board, peaking at 24 mpg city and 32 mpg highway for the 2.5 with a CVT, bumps of 4 and 5 mpg.
The new Forester will go on sale in the United States early next year along with price start at $21,000 to $30,000 when it goes on sale.

2013 Fiat 500c Abarth live in Los Angeles Auto Show
The 2013 Fiat 500c Abarth is taking the Los Angeles Auto Show by storm with "c" in the name stands for cabriolet.
That similarity also means the same front and the droptop is fitted with the same power-sliding cloth roof making this a soft-top car while retaining the some of the structural rigidity.
The 2013 Fiat 500c Abarth receives the same upright, a slightly longer and lightweight 16-inch rims mounted on Pirelli tires. While the 500c Abarth is only 33 pounds heavier than the 500 Abarth.
"The new Fiat 500c Abarth delivers the wicked attitude and track-proven capabilities of the hatchback model, now with the rush of open-air Italian performance," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of FIAT Brand for North America - Chrysler Group LLC.
The car receives the 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo engine from its hatchback stablemate, it sends 160 horsepower and 170 lb-ft. Power is delivered to the ground through the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
The 2013 Fiat 500c Abarth goes on sale in the first quarter of 2013, it will start at around $25,500.

BMW i3 Coupe Concept ahead debut at L.A. Auto Show
The launch of the BMW i3 Coupe Concept is presenting at this week's 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show bring boasts a carbon fiber body.
It's called the i3 Coupe Concept, features a carbon fiber body that saves weight while adding safety strength. There's are also revised exterior with a modified front fascia, updated rear end, a revised bumper, new side skirts and restyled doors.
The car lacks B-pillars and features a radical rear window design, the rest f the concept car is swathed in Solar Orange metallic paint.
The BMW i3 Coupe Concept cabin has also been revamped as it incorporates leather / wool seats, thanks to the vehicle's packaging, brushed aluminum accents and light eucalyptus wood trim.
The automaker claims the interior delivers a lounge-style ambiance with the functions as the navigation system as well as the information transfer between the vehicle and an iDrive infotainment system.
Motivation is provided by an electric motor, which produces 125 kW (170 horsepower) and 184 pound feet of torque. Underneath the concept car's floor sits a lithium ion battery, which enables the model to travel up to 160 km (100 miles) on a single charge.
Drivers will get a choice of three modes, including Comfort, Eco Pro and Eco Pro+, with varying performance characteristics.

2014 KIA Forte to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show
As expected, the 2014 Kia Forte sedan is set to be unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, which begins next week.
Essentially a renamed version of the KIA K3 and the Cerato concern the equipment packages. Notable highlights include a chrome accents, LED-infused headlights,d istinctive taillights, a prominent grille and a rakish windscreen.
The 2014 KIA Forte measures 179.5 inches (4,560 mm) long, 70.1 inches (1,780 mm) wide and 56.5 inches (1,435 mm) tall, so it`s really on the big side of the compact car sector.
The new Forte is expected to use the same 1.8-liter -cylinder 4-cylinder that develops 140 HP (103 kW) and 167 Nm (123 lb-ft) of torque.
The Cerato/Forte appearance in LA isn't a huge surprise, expect more information on the next-gen Forte to surface later this week.
2013 Toyota RAV4 leaked to the web
The 2013 Toyota RAV4 is set to debut in a few days at the L.A. Auto Show, but it appears a few photos of the new crossover have already hit the web.
No doubt that's when we'll have our best look at the new compact crossover, brings the crossover in line with the rest of Toyota's lineup.
The redesigned model has a distinctive headlights; wraparound taillights; sporty front fascia; a sloping roofline; plastic lower insert and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
Perhaps the most striking revelation, the 2013 Toyota RAV4 is also revamped with optional third-row seat, a new dashboard that incorporates an infotainment system, a three-spoke steering wheel, secondary controls and metallic trim.
The optional V6 engine in the existing RAV-4 could include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 3.5-liter but the engineers have scrapped the old four-speed automatic transmission for a six-speed unit.
Production starts January 2013 and expect to see the Toyota RAV4 be unveiled on November 28.

Volvo S60 Polestar concept to the Los Angeles Auto Show
The Volvo S60 Polestar concept is heading for the Los Angels Auto Show this month, and the car will continue its world tour.
Powered by a six-cylinder engine, the S60 Polestar concept packs a punch with 506bhp and torque to a useful 424lb/ft of torque, with a six-speed manual and a modified Haldex all-wheel-drive system transferring power to the road.
This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmh (62 mph) = 3.9 seconds and hit a op speed more than 300 kmh (more than 186 mph).
"We approached this project by looking at the production Volvo S60 as a platform for a potential race car - and the culmination of that data went into the design of the S60 Polestar Concept," added Jan Andersson, chief engineer at Polestar.
The Volvo S60 Polestar features a conservative body kit, a beefier brake system, Ohlins suspension to go along with its lowered and 19-inch rims in 265/30 R19 tires.
“It's a car developed with our own preferences in mind — although we know they are also shared by active drivers,” he added.

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV debut at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show
Following an initial teaser launched earlier this week, the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV the electric conversion of Chevy's smallest vehicle sold in the U.S.
Full details on the battery-powered Chevrolet Spark have not yet been released, but we do know that power is provided by an electric motor with 130 hp (100 kW) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque. The car can acceleration from 0 to 60 mph comes in just 8 seconds.
Chevrolet has not yet discussed the Spark EV's electric range, expected SAE combo charger with fast charging support that will fill the batteries to an 80 percent level in about 20 minutes.

2013 Fiat 500E heading to 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show
Before its official unveiling at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show, Fiat has released the first photos of its 500E electric car. The 2013 Fiat 500e also will make an appearance on the American Music Awards this Sunday.
Information apart from the photos showing a slightly modified exterior, a different lower white front fascia, badging just in front of the rear wheels, aero underbody lip and lower side sills.
The Fiat 500e also gained unique five-spoke wheels, which boast narrow openings in order to cheat the wind.
Interior revisions appear to be equally restrained and gets a white and orange contrasting color job. Other changes to the interior include a redesigned gauge cluster and push buttons instead of the regular gear shifter.
The 2013 Fiat 500e will ditch the regular 500's 1.4-liter gasoline engine for an electric motor with 100 hp (75 kW).
Fiat/Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has previously indicated the automaker expects will lose something in the area of $10,000 on each EV it builds.
2014 Mitsubishi Outlander and Sport Limited Edition debut at L.A. Auto Show
A pair of Mitsubishi crossovers are set to make their North American will make their debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 10:35 AM on Thursday, November 29, 2012.
The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander & 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition will ride on different platforms and were developed separately.
Full specs haven't been released, but according to Mitsubishi, the 2014 Outlander will be "among the most fuel-efficient compact CUV with 7-passenger seating as standard".
Featuring a fresh new design direction that emphasizes exterior aerodynamic efficiency, the American 2014 Outlander will be powered by a new gasoline engine equipped with a new version of our advanced MIVEC continuously-variable valve lift timing system for increased fuel economy.
The interior will feature standard seven-passenger seating and a trio of new safety systems including Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) systems and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition, which was designed to commemorate Mitsubishi Motors' arrival in North America 30 years ago. The car features blacked-out side mirrors; wheel arch trim and roof rails; center bumper; aluminum pedals; black leather seating surfaces; a six-way adjustable power driver's seat; along with dark-chrome alloy wheels and Limited Edition badging.
The automaker said that along with the vehicle presentations, the crossover plug-in hybrid is expected to arrive for sale in the United States next year.
