Hennessey Venom GT acceleration testing
The crew at Hennessey has released a new video to showing the world just how quick the Venom GT really with ability run from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 mph in 15.3 seconds.
While this wouldn't be terribly exciting with most cars, the Hennessey Venom GT will be powered by a 7.0L twin turbo V8 with 1500 hp (1118 kW) - stick a top speed of 272 mph (440 km/h).
In the quick video of the Venom GT, the car easily rockets to 0-230 mph in 19.96 seconds, that's the kind of speed that will peal your eyelids back if you aren't careful.
As a reminder, the power source is linked to a new seven-speed paddle shift transmission or the six-speed Ricardo manual transaxle along with an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 1:2.2.

2013 Hennessey Venom GT producing over 1500 hp
The new 2013 Hennessey Venom GT will be powered by a 7.0L twin turbo V8 producing over 1500 hp plus some design changes in the body.
Hennessey Performance said that "the Venom GT will continue to offer the best power to weight ratio in the hypercar market."
The 2013 Hennessey Venom GT will perform some changes to the doors, new headlights, a new front fascia, increased headroom with the double bubble roof and new hood with the center arch removed and new side mirrors..
The new Venom GT will be powered by a 7.0L twin turbo V8 with 1500 hp (1118 kW). The power source is linked to a new seven-speed paddle shift transmission or the six-speed Ricardo manual transaxle. While the 2012 Venom GT with a twin turbocharged aluminum V8 that produces 1,200hp and 1,135lb-ft torque.
