2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe Preview

 

Following this morning's leak, BMW has officially unveiled its M6 Gran Coupe. Aimed directly at the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, Porsche Panamera Turbo and upcoming Audi RS7 - the 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe is set to makes its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month.

The car is made instantly unique among four-door vehicles by its bonded-in carbon fiber composite roof panel, similar to the one found on the M6 Coupe.

Visually, the M6 coupe-like profile has been accented by all of the usual upgrades we'd expect including an aggressive body kit with a new front bumper, painted brake calipers, a signature twin-kidney M grille, flared wheelarches, optional Adaptive LED Headlights, four exhaust pipes in the rear diffuser and stylish 20-inch wheels wrapped in ultra-high-performance summer tires.

The M6 Gran Coupe weighs in at 1,950kg, just 5kg more than the M5, while 113-millimeter (4.45”) longer wheelbase.

Inside the M6 Gran Coupe gets exclusive carbon fiber trim along with boot space is 1,265 litres. The model is nicely equipped with Merino leather seats, the iDrive control system with a 10.2-inch Control Display, door sills with “M6” lettering, three-spoke steering wheel, Anthracite Alcantara and Leather are all standard equipment, leather upholstery and rear climate control.

The rear compartment offers three seats, the backrests of which can split and fold down in a ratio of 40 / 60 to increase luggage flexibility.

Under hood, the M6 Gran Coupe uses the same twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine and double-clutch transmission as the latest BMW M5. Power peaks at 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an exclusive electronically controlled Active M Differential for optimal traction.

BMW says the M6 Gran Coupe is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 miles per hour. However, buyers can increase it to 189mph through an optional driver's package and adds some uprated tyres to cope with the extra high speed potential.

In terms of efficiency, average fuel consumption is put at 28.5mpg on the European test cycle with CO2 emissions of 232 g/km.

The Gran Coupe should be the best-selling M6 in the UK, pricing starts at €128,800 (including a 19% VAT).

BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept Preview

BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept

The first images of a concept version of BMW's replacement for the 3-Series Coupe have officially announced the Web - the BMW 4-Series, which will go into production in the near future.

Now, with the unveiling of the 4-Series Coupe Concept, BMW is looking ahead to the fourth generation of its sporty mid-range coupe – and reasserting its global leadership credentials in the process.

The coupe version of the BMW 4-Series measures wheelbase (2,810 mm) is 50 millimetres longer, 1,362 mm in height, 1,826 mm in width and 80 mm to the rear track (1,593 mm).

The 'air breather', the vent seen on the fender behind the front wheel opening, is an adjunct to the 'air curtain' aerodynamic aid.

The BMW 4-Series Coupe concept also connects the two exhaust tailpipes in a dynamic sweep at the rear apron's outer edges.

The car has the usual BMW exterior cues, with hexagonal full-LED headlights, sloping roofline, 20-inch alloy wheels, grille is also much more pronounced and a new fender vent shaped like a reversed number seven.

As expected, the design of the interior is shared with the BMW 3-Series. Apart from a liberal covering of leather featured on the concept car, chocolate-brown Alcantara headliner, natural chestnut wood trim and centre console.

Unfortunately, engine information has yet to be released, but expect the same 328i and 335i designations from the sedan to filter across to the coupe.

General Motors launched the all-new Chevrolet Sail U-VA in India with a target to sell around 2000 cars monthly here.

The Sail U-VA hatchback is built on a new global small passenger car platform created especially for fast-growing emerging markets, including India, China, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt and North Africa.

Based on the global benchmark Chevy Design Philosophy, the car is fitted with a Volt - inspired grille that puts it in line with Chevrolet 's current design language. To achieve three dimensional look, it has been give three muscular sidelines. The Chevrolet Sail U-VA features electrically adjustable rear view mirrors; 14-inch alloy wheels; fog lamps and power windows.

"The all-new Sail U-VA hatchback is built on a new global small passenger car platform created for fast growing emerging markets," P Balendran, Vice President of the company said.

The SAIL U-VA has splendid space to accommodate your every aspiration. The car's interior is basic with a twin-cockpit design, a Bluetooth connectivity system, eige trim and chrome interior package.

The Chevrolet SAIL U-VA is designed for unmatched safety including child seat system antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and central locking. While centrally mounted Fuel tank minimizes the risk in case of front or side impact.

The Sail U-VA is offered with two engines include a 1.2 litre S-TEC II and the other 1.4 litre S-TEC III. Both engines are exclusively available with a five-speed manual transmission that spins the front wheels.

A 1.2 litre S-TEC II can produce a top power of 86 horsepower (53.1 kW/L) at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM, while the 1.4 litre S-TEC III develops a higher power of 78 horsepower (54.3 kW/L) at 4000 RPM and 205 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM.

2014 Nissan GT-R Preview

Nissan's practice of continually offering upgrades for its Nissan GT-R for the Japanese-market, which goes on sale there on November 19. The new 2014 Nissan GT-R  has been revealed, greater customization and the world’s best performance bargain.

On the handling side, new Nissan GT-R has improved chassis rigidity with cam bolts that allow for easier alignment adjustment, springs and front stabilizer, instrument panel bar and increased body rigidity. The GT-R supercar also has improved high-end acceleration.

The 2014 Nissan GT-R made a few small tweaks to the car's interior including optional carbon-fiber Recaro bucket seats; a new stitching color instrument panel; Black Edition cars get a red; amber-and-black and Premium Edition version that features rich Semiarinin leather.

The 2013 model year, Nissan bumped power from 530 hp to 545 hp features new high-output injectors for improving mid- and high-rpm response. However, the 2014 Nissan GT-R receives improved engine response in both the mid and upper-rpm range, along with a baffled oil pan helps maintain oil pressure during aggressive cornering.

A Nissan spokesman in the US confirmed that the 2014 Nissan GT-R is scheduled to go on sale in Europe and North America from January next spring.

2013 MINI Countryman Preview

MINI has updated the Countryman for the 2013 model year, including the addition of all-wheel drive, ahead of its two-door MINI Paceman brother.

In the two years since its launch onto the world's car markets, the MINI Countryman has developed into a driving force behind the continuing growth of the brand.

Designed to be more user friendly than previous incarnations, the 2013 MINI Countryman changes include a new centre console layout, and newly-designed rings on the signature central speedometer.

But the most noticeable change is the driver's door now incorporating controls for all of the windows, remodelled door armrests provide even more comfortable support for the arms, new rings around the speedometer and air vents finished in Carbon Black.

The 2013 MINI Countryman will now come standard with a three-seat rear bench while two individual rear seats available as a no-cost option.

European engine options remain as before, the MINI Countryman will be offered with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine meeting EU6 exhaust emission regulations that produces 121 HP. Opting for the Cooper S model gets you a turbocharged rated at 181 horsepower, while the John Cooper Works is powered by a 215bhp turbocharged petrol engine. A six-speed manual is still the standard gearbox, but a six-speed automatic is an available option.

The revised 2013 MINI Countryman  is scheduled to hit European dealers sometime in, which starts from £16,510.

2013 Toyota ProAce Preview

The new 2013 Toyota ProAce will expand presence in European LCV markets, that will be built by PSA Peugeot Citroën in the north of France. The Toyota ProAce will go on sale through the European Toyota retailer network during 1st quarter of 2013 with first deliveries to customers during the second quarter of the year.

The 2013 Toyota ProAce will feature bespoke design details to the front grille and two sliding side doors can be specified. It will be available in two lengths and heights, giving load capacities of 5m3, 6m3 or 7m3, giving it a cargo capacity of either 176, 211 or 247 cubic feet. This large, versatile space is complemented by a payload of up to 1200kg and the 2013 Toyota ProAce will be able to tow up to two tonnes.

The driver's seat is set high with a raised driver position and large windscreen delivering an MPV-like experience. The 2013 Toyota ProAce can also be specified as glass van or crew cab, a panel van, so meeting a wide range of business transport needs.

Toyota ProAce buyers will be asked to choose between three four-cylinder turbodiesel engines. The 1.6-litre engine that produces 90 horsepower and 180Nm of torque, the second is a 2.0-liter that is rated at 128 horsepower and peak torque figures of 320 and 340Nm respectively. The 1.6-liter come with a five-speed manual transmission while the 2.0-liters come standard with a six-speed manual unit.

The 2013 Toyota ProAce is highly specified for convenience, with central door locking with remote control; a manual air conditioning system; electrically-operated; audio system with Bluetooth; cruise control; heated door mirrors and adjustable steering position.

Other safety features include Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), Anti-lock braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, security in the most challenging driving such as heavy rain, ice or snow and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

2014 Subaru Forester Preview

Last month, the 2014 Subaru Forester has been we shared scans from the car's Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) brochure, now is the actual image of the compact crossover hit the net.

The new 2014 Subaru Forester is 35mm longer at 4,595mm (180,9 inches), 795mm or 70.7 inches tall (+15mm) and 20mm wider at 1,695mm (66.7 inches). It also rides on a longer wheelbase at 2,640mm or 103.9 inches (has also been extended by 25mm) to improve space for passengers.

The Subaru Forester may be built on a stretched version of the chassis that underpins the new Subaru Impreza. The fourth-generation Subaru Forester gains an entirely new front end, station wagon gains some new styling cues, heavily sculpted door sills, new door mounted mirrors and a smaller quarter window at the A-pillar's base.

The previously mentioned brochure gave [Auto Reviews] a grainy glimpse at the 2014 Subaru Forester interior with a color LCD screen that may be part of a new infotainment system. A new gauge cluster is also part of the package, sandwiched between the climate-control knobs and it looks pretty much the same as the Subaru Impreza.

The new 2014 Subaru Forester will be available in Japan with a choice of two gasoline engines. The first is a 2.0-liter unit that produce 146 hp (148PS) that's connected through a 6-speed stick shift or a CVT. Followed by a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged powerplant rated at 276 hp (205 kW) that's connected via exclusively to a CVT.

Japan will be the first country to get the new 2014 Subaru Forester starting in mid to late November. It should arrive in the US and Europe next year as a 2014 model.

2013 Range Rover Preview

Following a little leak earlier today, the 2013 Range Rover has been official announcement and public debut next month at the 2012 Paris Auto Show. Boasting a new look is now said to be more capable, lighter than its predecessor.

The most important change on the 2013 Range Rover is the new all-aluminum monocoque body structure that is 39 per cent (chassis that has shaved off 420 kg (926 pounds)), should yield noticeable increases in both fuel economy and CO2 emissions have also been reduced.

“The new Range Rover preserves the essential, unique character of the vehicle – that special blend of luxury, performance and unmatched all-terrain capability,” said Land Rover in a statement.

The new 2013 Range Rover features a 100mm longer wheelbase and rear seat room has been increased by a full 4.7 inches with an optional two-position seating arrangement.

We noticed a few modifications such as elongated front fascia, lights sweep back into the fenders and stylishly raked front grille. New wheels are also debuts a next generation of the brand's Terrain Response system and clearly inspired by the smaller Evoque.

The 2013 Range Rover for the European market will get to choose from one of two engines available, including a 4.4-liter TDV8 diesel engines and 3.0-liter TDV6. The only engine confirmed for launch in North America at this stage is a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged gasoline unit comes with a few minor changes to increase power and fuel efficiency. All engines of the 2013 Range Rover will drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF.

The interior of the 2013 Range Rover also get a completely new include noise levels are kept down with acoustic laminated glass; multi-mode off road traction control system returns; a generous 8-inch display; sound system developed by Meridian and the doors of the tailgate will be electrically assisted.

The new 2013 Range Rover will be available for order from September and will be sold in more than 160 countries from all over the world.

2013 Honda Accord Preview

Honda has released the first official photos of the 2013 Accord, which go on sale nationwide this fall. The new 2013 Honda Accord is roomier and more luxurious than before, adding a new sculpted look and a few premium touches.

There are no images of the cabin yet but Honda says that packaging changes have made it roomier than before. In addition, the 2013 Honda Accord will be offered with the new HondaLink infotainment system.

As the images reveal, the 2013 Honda Accord equipped a grille is larger; chrome trim; flanked by slimmer headlights; dual chrome tailpipes; new fenders along with deep contours.

“This car is the most sculpted and the most dynamic Accord yet,” said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of product planning for American Honda. “Following Honda's long-held philosophy of 'man maximum, machine minimum,' the beautiful exterior evolved from a focus on interior space and the needs of the people inside it.”

Special aerodynamic moves are designed to lower fuel consumption; forward collision warning technology; a standard rearview back-up camera for parking; blind spot detection; a lane departure warning system is the latest technology which is equipped with the 2013 Honda Accord.

Under the hood, the 2013 Honda Accord will be introduced with three new or improved engines.

A direct-injected 2.4-liter “Earth Dreams” four-cylinder with approximately 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque, through a six-speed manual or an all-new CVT.

An updated 3.5-liter V6 with approximately 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 265 lb-ft (359 Nm) of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic will be optional.

The 2013 Honda Accord there will also be a plug-in hybrid variant, which has a 6 kwH lithium-ion battery and an electric continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). The battery can be fully recharged in less than four hours using a 120-volt, outlet and less than 1.5 hours using a 240-volt charger.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder Preview

The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has officially unveiled the final production version earlier this week, following the release of several images on Facebook. The Nissan Pathfinder will start from $29,025 (including destination) and will go on sale this fall nationwide.

The highlights of the redesigned including angular headlights; a panoramic glass sunroof; numerous chrome accents; new a grille and a fixed rear panel. As expected, the new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder accompanied new unibody architecture contributes to a weight reduction of 500 pounds less than its predecessor.

"But while traditional SUV customers are looking for improved fuel economy, they still demand a vehicle that can do all the things they need, like carrying seven people, towing, and providing the surefootedness in all conditions of a four-wheel drive," says Al Castignetti, general manager of Nissan North America.

Inside, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has room for seven passengers in three rows of seats and is enhanced by a flexible seating system "EZ Flex Seating System with LATCH AND GLIDE".

The new 2013 Pathfinder benefits from a more upscale cabin with are the leather appointed seats, a dual-panel moonroof, heated steering wheel, a 13-speaker Bose sound system, remote engine start and tri-zone entertainment system.

Under the hood, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder equipped a 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 260 hp (194 kW / 264 PS) mated to a CVT transmission that improves fuel-economy. Nissan claims that fuel economy has improved more than 30 percent over that of the 2012 model. Mileage now leads the segment across the board, with 20 mpg city / 26 mpg hwy (front-wheel drive) combed for the FWD model and 19 mpg / 25 mpg (city/highway).

2013 Mustang RTR Preview

World Champion Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr has officially revealed the 2013 Mustang RTR with new styling, new features, improved performance and the harsh suspension tuning.

“I worked alongside very experienced suspension engineers and other pro drivers to deliver our goal; a very well-balanced car that offers Mustang RTR owners the ability to adjust the suspension to suit their driving style without sacrificing ride quality," says 2010 Formula Drift Champion, Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Starting with the exterior, the 2013 Mustang RTR includes a new styling package that includes an updated front fascia; a front lip spoiler; a rear diffuser; 19 x 9.5 inch wheels with Falken ultra high performance tires and revised side skirts.

Under the hood, the 2013 Mustang RTR can be outfitted with 5.0-liter V8 engine accompanied by a revised ECU, improved performance and up to 624 horsepower in Spec 2 form and 60 lb-ft (81 Nm) of torque.

The all-new 2013 Ford Mustang RTR comes in 2 forms, Spec 1 and Spec.

2013 Mustang RTR Spec 1 - $6,250: Available for the V6 and V8, includes an appearance package, Ford Racing 1.0 inch lowering spring, RTR axle back exhaust system.

2013 Mustang RTR Spec 2 - $11,995: Includes the full appearance package, 1.0 inch or 1.5 inch lowering springs, RTR 4-way adjustable front and rear sway bars, RTR rear chassis brace, RTR adjustable panhard bar and RTR axle back exhaust system.

Currently the 2013 Mustang RTR is available only at select premium Ford Dealers world-wide with Classic Design Concepts and are offered individually or as a package.

2013 Cadillac XTS Review

The 2013 Cadillac XTS was officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, arrives at U.S. dealerships late last spring with a starting price tag of $44,995 (€33,980) (the more flashy 2013 Cadillac ATS about $1000) including destination.

The styling of the 2013 Cadillac XTS is our approach 'Arts & Science' design formula by combining advanced technology and will against cars like the the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Audi A6.

On the exterior, the 2013 Cadillac XTS will be offered with three option collections include Luxury, Premium and Platinum. The XTS Platinum model represents the luxury including 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, a chrome and satin-chrome grille finish and vertical taillights.

The unique interior design, a heavy emphasis on technology and the first Caddy to use the company’s new innovative "CUE infotainment system".  All models of the 2013 Cadillac XTS will be equipped the Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension system and new short- and long-range radar systems. Featuring a safety alert driver seat; an 8-inch capacitive touch screen display in the center stack; interior special leather upholstery; climate control and a 12.3-inch reconfigurable gauge cluster.

According to Cadillac, the FWD models achieve 17mpg city and 28mpg highway miles per gallon, while the AWD model, 17mpg and 27mpg respectively. The XTS will utilize HiPer Strut front suspension and borrows the Brembo braking from Caddy's V-Series.

The 2013 Cadillac XTS provided by a 3.6-liter V6 (LFX) engine that produces 303 hp (227 kW / 308 PS) and 264 lb-ft (358Nm) of torque, linked to a six-speed automatic transmission with a Haldex all-wheel-drive system.

2013 Acura RDX Review

After officially announced at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show in february, the 2013 Acura RDX will go on sale in the U.S. with a retail price (MSRP) starting at $34,320. The 2013 Acura RDX was awarded the ‘Top Safety Pick’ award by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.

While the wheelbase is up only 1.4 inches but the exterior has been designed which looks larger and more elegant. The updates to the chassis has given the model slightly larger dimensions in comparison to its predecessor provide the new model is crisp inside and out.

Outside, the 2013 Acura RDX styling is more mature than before. Include a bold front fascia with the aforementioned pointed grille; round fog lamps; a high-mounted spoiler; elongated tail lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside a comfortable environment for four adults and also treated to additional leg room. The cargo area will be widely until you fold down the rear seats. To keep cabin noise levels in check, a quiet drive has been created by sound deadening materials.

Standard features of the 2013 Acura RDX include new technologies such as Navigation System with Voice Recognition; Real-Time Weather; Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting; a Keyless Access System with pushbutton start; Pandora internet radio interface; GPS-linked solar-sensing; power actuated rear tailgate; a rear view camera system with three unique viewing angles and hard disk drive (HDD) with 60 gigabytes of storage capacity.

2013 Acura RDX

The 2013 Acura RDX prototype is powered by 4-cylinder for a new 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 273 hp (276PS/203kW) at 6200 rpm, matched to a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The standard model available new all-wheel-drive system but for an additional $1,400.

Fuel-economy figures the FWD model returns 20 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway for the front-wheel-drive model and the respective figures for the AWD version are 19mpg, 27mpg and 22mpg.

Pricing starts at $35,205 for the front-wheel-drive base model and will be completed exclusively at the company's East Liberty, Ohio plant.

After brought into this world in 2008, the 2013 Audi Q5 features styling tweaks both inside and out is expected to land in showrooms. The highlights include a 15% decrease in fuel consumption and interior updates.

Exterior styling has been updated when the official pictures leaked onto the web. The 2013 Audi Q5 has also fitted with a new six-point grille; the headlights have been remodeled; plus updated trim; subtly modified column control stalks; incorporate both LED lamps and xenon. In addition, we find tweaked tail lamp graphics; 20-inch alloy wheels; a modified rear apron.

The interior has also been refined, include a revised center console, new chrome trim on the controls, plus a broad selection of new infotainment features. The 2013 Audi Q5 has also improved MMI infotainment system, which incorporates a large hard drive, 3D graphics and a DVD player, seven-inch color monitor. In addition, another new feature is the smartphone app Audi music stream.

Of more importance of the 2013 Audi Q5 are the changes found under the hood with a choice of five engines: three TDI turbodiesels, two TFSI gasoline engines and one hybrid setup.

The first is diesel variants start with 2.0L four-bangers that produce 141 hp (105 kW/143 PS) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) while offering a fuel economy figure of just 5.3 liters/km (44mpg US / 53mpg UK). The third is a 3.0-liter TDI V6, which produces 245 hp (180 kW/245PS) and a whopping 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque.
