2013 Mazda CX-9 live in Sydney

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 took to the stage today at the Australian International Motor Show is inspired by the KODO "Soul of Motion" design language that was introduced on the smaller Mazda CX-5 crossover.

For its second facelift, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 making some minor tweaks to the interior and adding a raft of new safety features such as a lane departure warning system and a high beam control system.

The enhancements inside include different color schemes and retaining the current model's seven-passenger seating capacity. The 2013 Mazda CX-9 SUV has also outfitted it with more luxurious interior amenities for the seats, satin-silver decorative trims, a new infotainment system, a redesigned shift knob, a speech-recognition device and the instrument panel gauges that also get new finishes.

Like the all-new 2014 Mazda6, Mazda’s CX-9 though a 3.7-liter V6 engine that is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission that produce 273hp (203kW) and peak torque of 367Nm.

After debuting in Sydney Auto Show, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 crossover will make its way to the United States in January.

Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept for Sydney Auto Show

 

The Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept is now unveiling at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show held in Sydney. Created by the Lexus' Calty design studio in Newport Beach, California, new hue is inspired by a naturally occurring semi-precious opal stone of outback Australia.

The interior is a flowing mixture of organic shapes combined the blue exterior shade has given it a slight cosmetic makeover. Here, Auto Reviews found twin 12.3-inch LCD screens that provide information, seat adjustments, advanced technology trimmed in wood, climate controls and leather.

“LF-LC is part concept, part reality: the concept hints at what's to come from Lexus, while the reality has us actively studying how we can engineer and build a vehicle like this in the future,” Cramb said.

An elongated hood, which features an Atkinson cycle combustion engine mated to an advanced high-energy battery pack. Combined, the Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept ggasoline-electric hybrid powertrain develops 500 hp (372kW or 506PS), which is the most of any Lexus hybrid.

Hyundai Veloster Street Concept debuts at AIMS

Hyundai has unveiled its Veloster Street Concept out at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show. This Street version is based on the Hyundai Veloster SR and has been modified from top to bottom in conjunction with a local aftermarket specialist - Concord Customs.

The Hyundai Veloster Street comes with a matt grey paint with orange contrast exterior, Tenso R V1 18-inch wheels wrapped with 215/40/18 rubber, a three-inch turbo-back stainless steel exhaust and lighting to the front.

On the interior, the two-tone exterior color theme continues with its new leather interior, while also gaining LED lighting throughout , a SounDesign sound system, Alcantara covered trim parts and roof lining with matching boot lid pieces.

The Hyundai Veloster Street Concept also comes with some engine modifications, including a custom front-mount intercooler setup, kevlar fuel hoses, a stainless steel air intake system, a sports air filter, fixed-back Recaro carbon fibre racing seats, Concord Customs bolted on new front and a carbon fibre interior. The brakes and suspension system have also been upgraded.

Suzuki Swift Sport unveiled ahead of Sydney Auto Show

Suzuki will show off a tweaked version of it's Swift Sport concept at next week’s (October 19 to 28) Sydney Auto Show (AIMS). Suzuki Swift Sport is a one-off concept designed by the brand's chief engineer Naoyuki Takeuchi.

A more aggressive bodykit is the most obvious change, the model features a front splitter, side skirts, LED daytime running lights, a large rear roof wing, chrome accents, a rear diffuser and five-spoke alloy wheels.

Details under the hood haven't been announced, but the Suzuki Swift Sport has a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 136 HP (100 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque and carying a $23,990 sticker price.
